Rishi Sunak an Indian-born is close to winning the leadership of Britain's Conservative Party and securing the support of 100 members in the race to become the country's prime minister.
Rishi Sunak has also served as Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom and is a leading figure in the Conservative Party. Rishi Sunak has so far received the support of 94 members of the Tory party. However, sources close to his campaign say that he has already secured the support of 100 members.
Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson is second in the race to become British Prime Minister with the support of 44 MPs, returning from a holiday in the Caribbean to contest the election after Liz Truss resigned. Penny Mordent was the first candidate to announce a campaign for Prime Minister, having so far secured the support of 21 MPs.
British Trade Secretary Sir James Doddridge, who is backing Boris Johnson, told News channel he was "back and ready for this election campaign.
